Winter and dry skin go hand in hand…
What Do You Plan To Do About Dry Skin This Winter?
If you’re like most people, you will use a lot of hand lotion, face creams, and even body hydrating creams to add moisture and to protect against moisture loss.
Your skin is largest organ but it is also very thin. One Eleventh of an inch is the barrier between your insides and millions of different, harmful toxins. Another aspect is that your skin is highly permeable giving applications to the skin a way into the body.
The old saying is that if you are not willing to eat it then don’t put in your skin – they end up in the same place – in our system.
Lathering your skin with ‘beauty’ products loaded with toxins is can damage your health by allowing access to your system.
Here are several really good tips for hydrating skin all year round but especially the winter months.
- Hydrate your entire system with lots of water and high anti-oxidant green tea. During winter there’s a tendency not to drink as much due to cool temperatures.
2. Eat a lot of raw foods, and also eat food high in omega-3 fatty acids. We suggest increasing these during the winter months over the summer months
- Bath in warm water and use dead ssea salts and himalayan bath salts. Marke sure not tuse very hot water because it acan actually harm your skin.
- Cover up when you venture out into the cold air. This means gloves, scarves etc.
- Moisturize daily with non-comedogenic moisture barriers such as coconut oil or organic body butters. Low toxin creams are imperative as well as creams that do not clog your pores.
- Very important to cleanse your skin thoroughly and moisturize before bed to remove impurities from your skin. No toxin creams!
